En tant que tout premier produit, Piccola est l'incarnation originale de la philosophie de design « less is more » de Pablo Pardo. Conçue comme une lampe utilitaire personnelle, la forme de Piccola est minimaliste, mais aussi tactile, ludique et invite à l'interaction. Un cuir de gant italien souple recouvre sa base douce et pliable, que l'utilisateur peut incliner selon n'importe quel angle tandis que son abat-jour en aluminium flotte pour rester à niveau. C'est cette base malléable qui maintient la sensibilité de Piccola à n'importe quelle position — une sensibilité destinée à rendre chaque articulation organique et personnelle. Piccola fait partie de la collection permanente du musée d'Art moderne de San Francisco.

Pablo Pardo

Pablo Pardo is a Venezuelan-born industrial designer and founder of Pablo Designs, established in San Francisco in 1993. A 1986 graduate of the University of Cincinnati, his early work included product and automotive design for 3M, IDEO, Toylab and Chrysler. His lighting blends technical innovation with simplicity, tactility and warmth, creating objects that feel natural to use and reflect a commitment to permanence. His work has earned international awards, and Piccola is held in SFMOMA’s permanent collection.
