Pablo was founded in San Francisco in 1993 by Venezuelan-born industrial designer Pablo Pardo. For over three decades, our collection has evolved through an enduring interest in light, materials, and how people live with the objects around them.

The Pablo Philosophy

We explore how light shapes a space and how people interact with it. We challenge traditional design metaphors, developing practical solutions distilled to their essence: form and light.

Materials, structure, and technology come together through a process of refinement. Every detail serves a purpose, from the way a lamp moves to the way its light is controlled. Our mission is to create designs that deepen the relationship between objects, the people who use them, and the environments they inhabit.

The Pablo Studio

Designed in San Francisco

We are a small group of designers, makers, and inventors. In our San Francisco studio, ideas take shape through conversation, experimentation, and the act of making. We isolate a concept, build working models, and refine it toward its central principle. Each modification must serve the idea and improve the experience of using it.

Independent designers and manufacturing partners bring different perspectives and expertise to this process. Through an ongoing exchange between design, engineering, and production, materials and mechanisms are tested, details are resolved, and concepts develop into finished lights.

Our collection has evolved over three decades, guided by the belief that each design should bring something useful and lasting to everyday life.

A common thread links our designs: a commitment to permanence. We create lighting intended to be kept, maintained, and used over time. This approach guides our choice of materials, technologies, and construction methods.
